Today I tried to take some pictures of my 2 kiddos together for sis's birth announcement. Boy! It is not easy! I suddenly have an enormous respect for children's photographers. She'd cry every time I set her down and he was totally not into it. I didn't get any that I think are cute enough for a birth announcement (I like them, I just hate that my arm is in them...) but oh well, they're still pretty cute...

Today my mom took T swimming at her hotel. He loved it. I'm so happy that my mom is here to get T out of the house to play. What am I going to do without her when she leaves??

The weather was so nice today that I just couldn't stand not going outside to play! T was so excited that little sister came to the park with him.

Today my parents took T out for a walk in the woods by our house...

Today was a great day! We got to bring little miss M home from the hospital...


And it was T's 2nd birthday!!

I am so blessed to have such a wonderful little family. I love my life :)

I'm so excited to dress this little girl, I can't even stand it! Bring on the bows I love it :)


T loves his little "sissa" so much. When he came to the hospital tonight, he ran into our room, saying "baby! baby!" he was so excited to see her. He jumped up on the bed and started giving her kisses.


I told him she was sleeping and he grabbed her little blanket (sitting on the table next to her bed) that is just like his but pink, and threw it on her and said "sleep!" ha how cute is that? He was probably thinking, how is she sleeping without her key?? haha.

Maizie Catherine was born early this morning! I had been having contractions all day but I didn't think it was anything to be to excited about. Well, to make a long story short, they got exciting and we headed into the hospital around 1:30am. When I got there, I was dilated 6 cm and by the time I was all hooked up and the anesthesiologist was out of the c section she was doing, (about an hour later..) I was fully dilated and 100% effaced and ready to push! I started crying when the Dr. told me it was too late for an epidural (ha! wuss...!) and then he felt bad and said, we could give you a spinal tap. And I said OKAY! So I didn't do the whole thing naturally, but almost, and boy it was short but painful!!! It was totally worth it though, because about 2 1/2 hrs after we got to the hospital, our beautiful, perfect baby girl was born and it was one of the best moments of my life. I'm still walking on clouds. I feel great, and I fell so lucky that we get to have this little girl in our family. Here are a few pictures from Maizie's birthday today...

My parents came in town yesterday! We are really loving it! T's getting totally spoiled and Sam and I have already gone out to 2 movies since they flew in. haha. (we never go to movies anymore....) Today we all went out to lunch and to get ice cream! yummmmm!



Today at my Dr. appointment, I was shocked to find out that I'm already dilated 3 cm! I've had a few rough contractions but nothing that I thought would get me all the way to a 3! He said 2nd babies tend to be easier and come much faster and he wants to see me on Tues if she hasn't come yet. If I'm dilated anymore, he said he'd send me to the hospital on Tuesday to have her :) I don't think I'm going to make it until Tuesday though because I've been having contractions all day today...but we'll see! I'm kind of hoping she comes on Monday because then my 2 kiddos would share a birthday and I think that would be so fun!! (is that weird!?)

This morning we went up to the Cider Mill to because I've been wanting to order some pies for Halloween & Thanksgiving. We mentioned it to Roo, Lucy and Jack and they said they'd come with us! (I'd tried calling to order over the phone but they never get the phone)
So anyway, we found out when we got there that they didn't take Halloween orders and they weren't taking Thanksgiving orders until Nov.1st. ha. So I thought, okay oh well I'll get a pie for tonight since my parents are coming in town. So, I take it up to the register to pay and they only take cash. Well I never have cash so I (embarrassingly) had to give it back. We thought we'd at least get the kids doughnuts so it wasn't a total waste, and we couldn't even find the cash for 3 doughnuts!! haha. so sad. Roo found a dollar so that covered 2, and then after searching the car and Roo's wallet we found 40 cents so they just gave us the 3rd for 10 cents cheaper. It was an embarrassing trip to the cider mill but oh well. The kids still had fun!

Today we had a few friends over to decorate Halloween cookies. T was way into the sprinkles....ha....clearly. We had a great time, and now we have lots of yummy cookies!

T has always been really easy to put to sleep at night (just like both his parents, he gets super tired at night and goes to bed early & easily) But I recently found that it's even easier (if that's possible) to put him down when we read the book "Goodnight Moon" before bed. It's totally crazy. Every time we finish reading this book, T....and it's exactly like this, every night...grabs his blanket, says "sleep" lays down and closes his eyes. It's amazing.

We also always pray together before bedtime, and I didn't realize how much he liked it, or even noticed we did it until the other night when we had friends over and it got to be his bedtime. Clearly he was getting tired, so I stuck him in his bed and said my goodnights and I love yous and started to leave. He folded his arms and goes "heavenly father..." It totally melted my heart. I haven't tried to skip out on our prayers since. What a smart kid. I sure love him!

Today we played at the park with some of T's nursery friends from church. Boy it was so fun!!

Bowling today! T loved it. At first he didn't understand that he had to take turns and he could only bowl when it was his time to bowl, he wanted all the turns to himself :) But he was much better at sharing and taking turns as the game went on...
Every time he rolled the ball down, he'd yell "go! go! go! go!..."

After he hit the pins, he'd turn around, clap for himself and say "yay!!"

Check out the kids' cute little bowling shoes. I can't believe my baby is old enough to rent his own bowling shoes!

T came into our room at 4:30 this morning and said, "hi!!" He was wide awake. I tried putting him back to bed and got him to stay in his room until 5, but at 5 he came back in and said, "hungry. show." (yeah we watch cartoons in the morning, T's gotten pretty used to it and clearly it's kinda part of our routine.) So I got up, got him a bowl of cereal and some OJ, turned Dora on the TV and got back into bed. No longer then 5 minutes later, I heard him laughing and heard him running in our room, I pretended to be asleep..and he goes, "mom!! again, again, again." (BIG mistake letting your kids know about DVR and that the funny parts of shows can be rewound to watch again...) so I thought, "ugh I'm not going to get back to bed who am I kidding?" and I got up.
BUT....there's an upside to waking up at 5am. I got so much done before 7! I made & ate oatmeal, made a new onesie for little sis...


and made a loaf of banana bread for the receptionist at my Dr's office (because we love her, she is the nicest lady, and I'm not sure how many more times we're going to see her.)



Oh and I sewed a new (more comfortable) waist band on my maternity jeans, showered, got dressed, got T dressed and we were sitting around at 8:30am, just waiting until it was time to get in the car to go to the Dr. at 9:30. ha. I guess it pays off to be an early riser. Although it wasn't really my choice this morning...!

Dr apt today: Dr was out delivering a baby, nurse gave me a choice if I wanted to get checked (for dilation and effacement) and since T was with me, I just decided nah, who cares anyway. I could be a 3 today and not go into labor for another 2 weeks or be a 0 today and go into labor tonight, so why even check right? So nothing too exciting to report...except that baby sis is getting big (nurse said, "well she doesn't have too much room to grow anymore in there!" ha) and that she's ready to come, head down and everything is looking great :)
Mom & Dad get here next Thursday so I'm hoping she waits until they get here to come, but as soon as they get here I'm going to want her out :) I'm getting really anxious to meet this little lady.

PS. Happy 16th Birthday to T's uncle Nolan! We love you!!

This morning the doorbell rang and to my surprise it was a beautiful bouquet of flowers from Sam! Boy am I lucky or what? I sure have a great husband!

Sam didn't have school today (fall break) so this morning I talked him into going with me to Rochester to take T to the Children's Museum there. (the "talking into" was easy, I have the best husband in the world)

The drive was kinda long and T got really sick of the car, but we had a great time. T's favorite things were pretending to be a mailman and shopping at the kid sized Wegmans grocery store (he put a ton of carrots in his cart and kept saying, "orsies..(horises)..." ha. Funny kid, he loves feeding any animal but especially loves feeding carrots to the horses by our house.

...and course he loved riding the "orsies" with Sam.

Today we went to Iron Kettle Farm, just about a half hour drive from our house. It was fun! We saw a bunch of animals, the kids went on a train ride, went through the hay maze, and T found the pumpkin patch and had to bring another pumpkin home.





37 weeks with little miss today..she's getting BIG!

Sam is good at everything! His pumpkin is totally perfect! HaHa. I love it and I love our pumpkins this year.

We came home with 2 gigantic pumpkins and 1 little one for T. Can't wait to carve them tomorrow!!
