4.1.2012

T doesn't really nap much anymore, but if we go somewhere late afternoon in the car he'll usually fall asleep. Yesterday I had to run to babies R us to grab one thing (mattress protector. T has been having some accidents at night and won't wear pull ups. "Mom those are way too scratchy and they hurt me!" ha ha. He cracks me up) Anyway. He zonked out on the way there, so I transferred him to the cart and he stayed asleep! Maze & I browsed around the store for a good 45 minutes, then went to Old Navy next door because we didn't want to wake him up! Funny kid slept like that for over an hour. ha! Just like daddy-those 2 can sleep anywhere!

My kids love ice cream. Or as Maizie calls it, "EINAAAA!!"

Shes so sweet, but she's also a little bully! She loves to bug Tucker and loves loves to get a rise out of him. She was kicking and bugging him SO BAD on our walk the other day and T didn't want to walk so I had to trap her leg to stop the bugging. HA! Mean mom. It worked :)

I'm starting to think my kids look really similar, which is weird because I used to think they looked nothing alike. Their faces looks so similar in this picture that I took of them this morning at the park, they could be twins :) Click on it to make it bigger...you'll see!

Lately you'll probably find us playing out in our driveway with bikes, bubbles, sidewalk chalk, scooters and dogs. It was pretty cold yesterday but we're ready for spring and we're hoping the playing outside might make it feel more like Spring around here.

Maze was eating a cupcake yesterday ( left on our door with no note-thanks to whoever left them!) and Olly sure had his eye on the prize. ha ha ha. He surprisingly never snagged it from her and only had bites as she offered them to him. ha ha. It was fun to watch.

3.21.2012

It's been so hot here! We're hitting temperatures 10 degrees above the record for this time of year, it's nuts! We're not complaining though, we spend our days outside eating popsicles, and riding bikes & scooters.

T had a
St. Patricks Day party at preschool and he was nice enough to let me & Maizie tag along. It was so fun. Here they are all ready to party :)

Some friends that we met at Cornell got a job here and will be moving here in June!! Conner will be working with the same company that Sam's at, so they're staying with us this week, and searching for a home. T sure loves having Graham here and Maizie can't get enough of Audrey, literally, poor little Audrey, Maizie loves babies. And obviously Sam & I love having Conner & Lindsey around. It's so fun.

I had a great birthday the other day. I turned 29. Hard to believe that I'm almost 30! haha that sounds weird. I celebrated my birthday at the park with my 2 favorite crazy little kids and we had a great time. Sam took me out to a fancy seafood place for dinner, it was so nice!! I love dinners out without kids...oh man, it's just so nice.

This little girlie went to the Dr. yesterday for a follow up appointment for her ear infections. She's looking great and all better!! Crossing our fingers that we don't have to see the Dr. again until her 18 month well check next month.

3.14.2011

My good friend Leah tagged me, I don't usually do these things but I think I'm up for it today, sounds kind of fun and both my kids are sleeping (which NEVER happens) so here goes!

1. What are my colors?
I love green. I love the way it looks on Maizie. For me: blues & purples. I love the way sam looks in his royal blue sweater and Tucker looks so stinking cute in oranges & reds.

(shout out to my sister-thanks for the cutest best birthday present! Made my day when it came in the mail..thank you thank you sis!! So super nice of you!)

2. Who is the last person you called & why?
Sam, last night. To see what time he was going to be home so I could have dinner hot & ready on the table for him. HAHAHA not. Sorry babes. Maybe one day I'll be that kind of wife. It really was Sam though. Me & the kids were calling him to see what time he'd be home. Just cause we were excited to see him. (And he usually makes dinner & we were hungry :) oh man I'm the worst wife ever.)

3. What is the first picture on your camera roll on your phone?

From last fall. I go through my phone every once in a while and delete pictures. But I can't bring myself to delete the ones I really love and I really love this one. This was a super fun day. One of the last days of nice weather until winter. We were just happy to be playing outside.

4. Instagram or Facebook?
Instagram! I love it. The picture above was an instagram photo. I never really look at FB anymore. Every once in a while I'll write something or upload a picture. But if I don't comment on your facebook posts don't feel bad, I probably didn't see it. Facebook is the last thing I look at when I'm wasting time looking at my phone. ha ha.

5. Beverage of choice?
Water. Or tea. I love hot herbal tea to wind down after the kids go to sleep. I don't understand all the hype about diet coke. gross. ha ha. sorry I know I just lost a lot of friends. I actually haven't had soda in probably 5 years. I just don't like it. (neither does T. ha ha. You should see his face if he ever has a sip of someones soda. He freaks out. Maizie-she'll guzzle it all down. ha)

6. With a cup of soup do I order a half sandwich or salad?
Sandwich! Always. And always turkey. I love turkey sandwiches and have them almost everyday for lunch. I love a good salad too. But not with soup. If I'm ordering a salad (which I do a lot too) I like it with chicken or salmon on it and no soup)

7.What is your favorite road trip music?
Adele, Mindy Gledhill, Ingrid Michaelson, Christina Perri...I love those chill, relaxed artists. Well, unless we have an unhappy child in the back seat and we're forced to listen to the kid songs. Which I actually don't actually mind all that much-especially when I look in the rear view mirror and they're doing all the hand actions-clapping & patting and stuff. It's pretty darn cute.

8. What is your go to candy?
Easy. Chocolate covered almonds from Costco. I've been eating them the entire time I've been working on this post. I love em. I'll include a picture so you can go buy them right now. Go. You won't regret it.

9. Am I a flip flop or sandal kind of person?
Flip Flop. Totally. I love dressing casual. The more casual the better..My brown leather flip flops are my favorites.

10. What is my favorite thing to do as exercise?
I go to the gym everyday because every morning my kids beg me to take them to the kids club at the gym. They're great motivators. Really. Some mornings I'm totally dragging and don't feel like going, but they'll beg & beg to go, so we usually end up there. And I love it. Lately I've been running on the treadmill a lot because I think it's more fun then the elliptical. I've never really considered myself a runner but I might just be one. I ran 5 miles this morning and it was fun!!
I like any kind of exercise though. Pushing Maizie in the stroller while T rides his bike is for sure one of my favorite things in the world to do. I love being outside.

11. Why did I start a blog?
For our families who never get to see the kids and live all the way across the country. That's why EVERYTHING in this blog is about our kids.

I tag: Steph, Camilla, Jamie, Kehau, Roo, Shans, Tiffany and Sara! Your turn!!
Thanks Leah. xoxo.

3.12.2012

Maizie has been really sick. I mean probably the most sick either of my kids have ever been. It started with double ear infections a few weeks ago then she recovered for a few days, then they came back worse last and she's been totally miserable. It was so sad. I'm so so so happy that she's all better now but phew what a rough week for my little lady.

Clearly she's feeling better. This was taken after she was sick. She loves, I mean LOVES to dance. Here's a video of her shakin' it.

T is doing so well in preschool! He loves going and runs into school without even looking back. He sticks his "key" in his backback and says, "bye key! I'll see you after school!" His teacher said he hasn't even asked for it during school for the last 2 weeks! (course he gets it out of his backpack the second he gets in the car! ha ha) Preschool has been amazing for us! He has totally matured into a little boy since starting. It's unbelievable. I love seeing this guy grow up, he's such a good kid. When I picked him up from school last Thursday he goes, "mom-ask me if I learned any new songs!" I asked. He said, "yes! This is the one I learned!" And sang this song in the video, I had to record it because it's so darn cute. I love how he says, "my meigos." ha ha ha. Too sweet.

In other news...we voted on Super Tuesday. I told T we were going to go vote and told him that "voting is awesome!" we went, and when we were walking out to the car, T goes, "I thought we were going to go BOATING. I wanted to drive!" ha ha. Oh geez, I felt bad. I was wondering why he was so excited about voting I was thinking wow this kid is way political. ha ha. Sam & I stayed up until after midnight that night, waiting for the results to come in. It's way fun living in a state where your vote seems like it really matters. And wow what a close race in Ohio it was! Glad we voted!! :)

Yesterday Maze & I were matching for church. Down to our red shoes. I realized as we were walking out the door & I asked T to take a picture of us. He took this one:

Then he gave the camera to Sam and said he wanted to be in a picture too. ha ha.

I just love this picture of the kids at Costco on Saturday. I can't get over how old my kiddos are getting.

3.5.2012

Last Friday we took off right after Sam was done working and headed to Chicago to visit with our good friends the Booths. We lived right across the hall from them our 1st year at Cornell and we became like family-not going a day without seeing them, sharing many meals, borrowing many things, watching tons of late night after the kids (both of us just had one at the time) went to bed. We had a lot of fun with them right across the hall and we're glad we live close enough now to drive for a weekend visit.
Our drive was smooth until the last hour when Maizie got into some hand sanitizer-swallowed a little bit and threw up all over herself & me. (she showed up at the Booths naked) and T deciding he had to use the bathroom in a scary Chicago hood and couldn't wait until we got to the Booth's house. ha ha ha. Traveling with kids is a whole different ball game. ha ha.

Saturday morning all the kiddos woke up bright and early. (pretty sure mine woke up theirs, sorry Tiff). Robert grabbed his guitar and the kids danced & danced the morning away. Oh man they had so much fun dancing. T was too cool to dance at first but as soon as he heard the awesome kid songs Robert was making up he threw all caution to the wind and not only danced but after each song he's BEG for "more more more!!"

Saturday (after breakfast & all the dancing) we headed down the the aquarium.

Sunday before we headed home, we decided to take the kids down to the Chicago childrens museum at Navy Pier. It was super cute and despite it being way crowded, we had a great time and the kids loved it. (way last minute, we thought we'd just head home in the morning since it was snowing pretty hard but decided to take advantage of one more day while we were there. Glad we did!)

We had such a fun weekend, but it made us just miss the Booths all over again. Thanks for the great trip Rob & Tiff. If anyone wants to be shown a good time, go visit them. They are the best hosts!
