There's a splash pad at a park right by our house and today it was so hot outside that we thought we'd better check it out.
Friends!
After pulling T's swim trunks up about 100 times, I finally just took them off. T needs to put some meat on his bones. I know he will eventually, he's just not into eating right now...weird.
Kehau and I even got in the water with the boys..it felt so good! I came home soaked. Ha.

Whenever T hears the ladder go down that goes up to the attic, he comes running from wherever he is and climbs up it. I think it might be his favorite thing to do.
He often points to the attic even when the ladder is up and the door is closed and goes "up, up." He's thrown many tantrums this week concerning this ladder...when we put the ladder up after it's been down....tantrum. If I wont put it down when he asks (which I never do, because I don't really want him playing on the ladder..)....tantrum.
Ha, he loves it. I guess it is pretty cool, like a climbing wall in the middle of the house.

The last couple of days I've been busy reacquainting myself with my sewing machine. First I made a few burp cloths and some onesies for our little lady on the way and then I made T a festive fall tie.
I missed sewing so much over the summer! Now that I'm back I'm totally addicted. I think I'll probably make a few more onesies tonight, because I just can't stop!
(I'm using T's old ones, for some reason he had like 8 million plain while onesies...and they're all plain boring white. Poor kid, I didn't have a sewing machine when he was born!)

Sam went to play tennis today with some friends, T and I met up with them after he woke up from his nap. T loved tennis! He was laughing so hard the whole time we were there, and he'd totally crack up when people would hit the ball. I even hit a few (at almost 8 months pregnant....ha.) It was so fun!
I was a little nervous that the newborn sitting on the side of the court or that T was going to get hit (he really wanted to be in on the action) but they were fine :)
(Kehau-thanks for hitting with me. That was so fun)

We've been so busy the last few days, getting settled back in NY, seeing old friends, and preparing for school to start again that blogging has been about the last thing on my mind......sorry mom. But I had to share this video of T that I took on Monday. I love his little voice and I'm so proud of his counting!! I love my little man so much (even though he wouldn't blow me kisses at the end.. :) )

The rain has been following us all summer. It rained most days in Seattle, and when we went to San Diego for a week it rained there, now that we're back in NY it rained all day here! But we don't care, we love the rain. Plus, the rain boots that I got T last fall finally fit him now!! Today we went on a walk in the rain. I was stoked to try out my new double stroller that we got the last day while we were in Utah.
This stroller rocks. I love it. It's a double, but the 2nd seat (or bar for carseat attachment) pops right out, so it can be used as just a single too. T didn't know about it at first, but he likes it now. His seat can either face out towards the street or at me, today he wanted to face towards me...when the baby gets here, I can face them towards each other. I think he'll like that :)

Well, we made it back to NY after our summer away. And boy I'm telling you... the way to do a long flight with a toddler is to buy him his own ticket and take the red eye. T slept the whole time, through both flights :) It was wonderful!
It was so fun to come home to our apartment. We've sure missed our things. T was so excited to see his toys again, we were excited to see our couch and bed and big TV. And I'm SUPER excited to start making a little space and finally start getting ready for this little girl who's going to be joining us in about 10 weeks. I have about 100 sewing projects that I've been excited to embark on for her...oh how I've missed my sewing machine this summer!
Thanks to our parents and families who did so much for us while we were in town. Thanks for all the babysitting, it was great for Sam and I to get out alone a bunch last week, we never do that. And thanks for helping us get ready to leave last night. It was so great to spend some time with you guys, we are so lucky to have both our great family's....we love you!!!

Today it started raining right as we were getting to the swimming pool. There was a little bit of thunder so we had to get out of the pool for a whole half hour to make sure the storm had passed. T was so upset that we couldn't get in for a while, but I managed to capture a smile in between tantrums.... :)
We ended up having a lot of fun once we could get in the water!!

My Aunt and Uncle are going to the Ukraine on their mission and they had a farewell today. (Sam went the the Ukraine so it's been fun for them to talk to Sam about what to expect over there!)
After church we had a get together at my parents house. T loved playing with my cousins daughter, Mary. She's about 4 months older then him. They played so nice together.
Kisses...
Handsome dude.

Today we ran a few errands with my mom. While we were out, we found ourselves really close to Gardner Village, so we decided to go check out the petting zoo. It was so fun! T loved all the animals and I was so happy that he wanted to pet them and wasn't afraid of them. It was great!
T hates riding on the merry-go-round, so I just figured that he wouldn't be interested in riding real horses. So I was surprised when I asked him if he wanted to ride and he did! He picked a pony named George and he loved it!! When it was over, he said, "more, more, more." ha. We'll maybe have to make another trip out there before we leave SLC on Friday.

He's no dummy...T picks all the good stuff (the M&M's) out of trailmix...
We made it to SLC! On the plane we brought: snacks, stickers, books, makers/crayons and a notepad, apple juice and of course a DVD player. Ha. But we made it.
(I'm so proud of Sam!! He gave a final presentation to his company today, and he's driving the car (my mom's car that she let us drive all summer!! Thanks mom!!) back to SLC tomorrow. Congratulations on finishing your summer internship Sammy!! We're so proud of you!)

We spent the day packing.
We're headed back to UT tomorrow where we spend a week before heading back to NY. We have had such a fun summer here in Kirkland, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't excited to get back to NY where we have friends and where all of our stuff is. I miss T's books, his toys, our comfortable bed and couch, our big TV, and even my dishes. ha.

T is like the most careful kid on the face of the planet. He insists on holding hands wherever we go, and doesn't really climb or jump off of anything. So I guess I'm not surprised that he's never gotten hurt...well until today. Today T got his very 1st scrape. He fell while playing at the park. He was so tough, he didn't even cry! I didn't even know that he scraped his knee until I put him in the car and saw it. I said, "ouch! wow, you're tough, I didn't know you scraped your knee." and now ever time he points to his scrape he goes, "ouch." ha.

Today we went down to sit on the dock at the beach to watch the Blue Angles air show! It was so neat to watch all those jets fly so close together. T loves the show on the Disney Channel, Little Einsteins and there's a jet in the show that they call Big Jet, so he was pretty excited to see Big Jet in real life, flying around up in the sky :)

It's a mystery...
Today we opened the front door to go on a walk and there was this red basket on our doorstep...full of great kids educational games. Really great things. Some not even opened yet. AND there was no note.
I figured it was from the sweet lady next door, she's the only person that we've really made friends with in our condo complex. So T and I went over to thank her and she said it wasn't from her. hummmm. Weird, huh? I honestly can't think of anyone else it might be from.
Well, whoever you are, thank you for all the great new things!! We're both really excited about all our new games. T was really into stringing these beads today...and I haven't even showed him the other stuff yet! Wow. Such a fun surprise!

I took a picture of T today on the swing, and it reminded me of a picture I took of him 14 months ago so I compared the two...
haha. Check out those sweet rolls he used to have...Oh what a difference a year makes...huh??

We woke up Saturday morning and Sam said, "lets go to the San Juan Islands and stay at a B & B tonight!" I was so excited! So we packed in like 5 minutes, and we were the last car to make the 9:05am ferry over to Friday Harbor. We had such a great trip. Friday Harbor is so pretty! While we were there, we spotted a whale, watched a beautiful Bald Eagle sitting in a tree right above us, ate some good food and stayed at this adorable Bed & Breakfast on a farm with Alpaca's, Chickens, Pigs and Sheep. We got the most beautiful room at the B & B too...with huge windows and a huge king size bed...big enough for the 3 of us :)
(I took a picture of our room, bottom right)
Sam took some cool pictures of the Eagle we saw.
I'm so glad that we went to Friday Harbor while we had the chance! We only have one more weekend here in Kirkland and then it's back to New York. I'm really excited to get back to all of our stuff and all of T's books and toys and mostly our friends, but this has been such a fun summer!
