We've had some nice, sunny, spring-ish days this week, so of course we've been playing outside every chance we get. Maizie is loving riding bikes with T. She can't really do it yet, but she sure is proud of herself when she sits up on that seat. She wants to be just like T and tries to keep up with him all day long. Tues/Thurs mornings when he's at preschool she asks where he is the whole time he's gone. "ta-ta?? Are you??" She's pretty attached to him. And him to her too. They're pretty sweet little siblings.

Maizie is WAY into dressing herself right now. She loves doing things by herself, so naturally she loves things she can put on without assistance. She's often found strutting around with her rainboots and sun glasses on. Oh and she always need a clip "bow" in her hair. She'll scream "bow! bow! BOW!" until I stick one in, and she'll often reach up to check that she has a bow in her hair. When she feels it, she gets a huge smile and say, "gorgeous." ha ha.

Toledo has a great children's museum called The Imagination Station. I can't believe that last week was our first time checking it out. I kind of like to steer clear of stuff like that during the winter because I feel like we always get sick at places like that, but if would've known how awesome it was, we would've been going all year! Since we went T's been asking to go back to "the station place" he loved it so much.

Yesterday I took both kids swimming. We had a blast.

Tucker was cracking me up Sunday in Primary, I had to snap a quick phone picture. We were singing a song and the kids would sing really loud or really soft according to the music leader's signals. Whenever she said to sing loud, T covered his ears. ha ha ha ha. Oh man he has such a funny little personality. I love it.

We're doing well! Time is going so fast, I can't believe it's already almost March! Life is good.

Maizie has turned into an enormous mama's girl. Oh man. I can't take a step away from the direction that she's in without her saying/yelling.."mamamamama!" OK i love it. I do. But it's pretty exhausting too. I can't leave the room or leave her sight for a half second without her having a major melt down. It makes me tired and I've been too exhausted to blog lately. so sorry to anyone crazy enough to look at my boring, monotonous blog in the first place. ha :)

We really do have some seriously exciting things going on though that I feel inclined to share. First of all-the kids are loving eating their veggies. YAY! well, drinking them anyway. Sam got a fancy new blender and has been making "green smoothies" with the kids each morning. They love them, and I love to see my kids devouring spinach, carrots and other super foods.

Sam surprised T with a new "big, big, bike"-he had totally outgrown his little strider, and since he's such a little biker, it was a needed upgrade. He loves it, and caught onto the pedal thing really quickly.

She likes riding in the stroller while he rides his bike.

The biggest change around here is that T started preschool 2 mornings a week. He loves it! And I'm so proud of him. We weren't really looking to start him until August, but while checking out out preschools, we found one we really liked with a rolling admission. So, since he was begging to go, we decided to go for it and just get him started. Here he is on his first day, walking into school. (he looks really cute hanging his backpack & little jacket up in his cubby. ha ha. Oh and he couldn't get rid of me faster that morning.)

Him going to preschool is bringing back so many memories of when I taught preschool at the U. I loved those little kids. I remember thinking how great their age was and being jealous that their mom's got to hang out with them and hear the funny things they say all day. I can't believe I have my own little, funny preschooler. And he really does say the best stuff. He cracks me up. And yes, his blankie did go to preschool with him. And yes, he was holding it when I came to pick him up. I told his teacher about it and that if he asked for it to try to distract him but if he absolutely needed it that it was in his backpack. She said he had just gotten it out before pick up. We probably need to get rid of it huh? ugh I just can't do it. He loves it so much.
I think it's possible that Maizie likes hers even MORE then T though. Oh sheesh...she can't even leave a ROOM without holding her key. What is it with my kids and their blankies?? ha ha ha.

I'll try to blog more often.

I love Valentines Day. The kids make it super fun. I have a feeling that valentines day will become more of a "family holiday" then a romantic me & Sam holiday. Sam spoils me everyday and we get to go out alone quite a bit, so I like the idea of spending Valentines Day with the kids and having special heart shaped pick and red meals & activities throughout the day. They love that kind of stuff, so do I.

The kids ended up going to bed super early on Valentines Day so Sam & I ordered some food to go at our favorite sushi spot down the street (we're new to sushi, but we're kinda liking it!) and ended up having a good quiet meal at home. It was nice.
Hope everyone had a nice Valentines Day, spent with those you love!!

Where did my babies go??
Maizie now eats all her meals sitting on a booster at the table! (the high chair straps were really annoying and she would crawl out and stand up in her chair, it was making me nervous) She's thrilled with herself and loves sitting at the table with the rest of us. She's also started eating really well with a spoon/fork and doesn't get nearly as messy as she used to. T keeps telling me, "Maizie's not a baby anymore!" I don't know where he got the idea, but I'm starting to agree. She's so grown up all of a sudden!

Also, my little guy started primary yesterday! He was so excited, we've been talking about it all week and he couldn't wait to go. All through sacrament meeting he'd say, "I just want to go to primary! Is it time for primary yet??" ha. He did great in his sunbeam class, but when all the kids come together for the 3rd hour, he had a hard time. I think it was because I was in there..I'd be curious to see how he'd do if I wasn't there. Every 4th week I teach sharing time and coincidently yesterday I taught. All throughout my lesson he clang (is that a word?) to my leg, occasionally saying "I want to go home now." In the car on the way home he said, "I love primary!" haha. Kids.

It's been so freezing cold here. Maybe I'm just being a baby because we've just spent the last month in dreamy So. Cal weather. Hoping for a warm up soon, we miss playing outside.

We made it back home from our month in La Jolla. We sure had a great time, but it was good to get back and see Sam.
I have a bunch to catch up on from our trip. My sister Steph came out to visit and Cliff came back for a weekend. We went to Sea World again, had a few camp fires & roasted s'mores on the beach , went swimming, went sea shell hunting, and did a lot of getting spoiled and hanging out with my parents. Here are some of my favorite pictures from the last few weeks.

Long plane flights with young kids are super hard. But they did pretty good. T fell asleep for the last hour or so, right when he fell asleep, Maizie had a gigantic melt down, she was super tired and woudn't fall asleep or suck on her bottle. Finally I stuck T's headphones on her and played her kindermusik songs and she just listened and waved her arms the rest of the flight. Those headphones saved us.

In Detroit, dad was waiting for us at baggage claim. He'd already pulled all our bags, carseats and stroller and had a hot herbal tea waiting for me in the cup holder of the stroller. It was so fun to see him!! When we got home, he'd cleaned the whole house spotless, stocked up the refrigerator full of food and had 2 dozen gorgeous pink roses waiting on the kitchen counter. Sorry, sorry I know...gross, get a room..I just can't help but brag about how lucky I got with Sam.

mom & dad-thank you thank you THANK YOU so much for an amazing vacation. We had such a great time. We miss you already!
