What the heck is this thing?? Neither of my kids have had any interest in a binky. I thought it was weird that T never liked one, because it seems like most baby's love them. I thought Maizie would for sure be into it and then at about 2 months she decided she didn't want anything to do with it either. I found her old binky today and gave it to her, and she had no idea what to do with it. I put it in her mouth and she just chewed on it. ha ha ha.

Everyone tells me that I'm lucky, that we won't ever have to worry about breaking the binky habit. But I think it would be nice on some occasions (church, airplane flights). Oh well. I wonder if she'll be a thumb sucker like her brother? He found his thumb around 6 months and still loves it.

Every couple of days, I hurl our garbage on top of our car and drive it down to the dumpster (what? you don't have to do that?!) ha ha.
Anyway, today Sam took the garbage out on his way to the bus stop and a few hours later the kids and I went to Target....completely forgetting about the trash on the top of our car. ha ha. I came out of target and started laughing out loud when I saw this...

ha ha. NICE.

T was playing with his green laptop, little sis loved the noises and colors it was making so she stared to grab at it. He got upset, and I told him to go get his other baby laptop for her. He decided that was a good idea and here he is showing her how to use it. She wasn't that into it and by the end of his tutorial he said, "she doesn't like it." and took them both into his room. ha ha.

(we're going to have to work on him sharing with her. I don't think that he's too excited that she's starting to grab at his toys.)

We had such a fun spring break. But first......big news!

Sam was offered a job with a company in Toledo Ohio as an asset manager with Health Care REIT (www.hcreit.com, check it out!). He accepted, and he starts just a few weeks after graduation on June 21st! Since we had already planned a trip to Chicago for Spring Break, we stopped in Toledo for a few days since it's right on the way. I'm so excited for Sam. This is a great opportunity for him and us. It seems like a fantastic place to work. When we visited his future office, we were totally welcomed with open arms and treated like VIP. I think we're really going to like this company. Living in Ohio is going to be something totally new, I hadn't even visited Ohio until last week, but we already have good friends there. (Doing their residency for med school) So it was fun to stay with them and have them show us around a little bit.

After our time in Toledo, we drove the short 4 hrs to Chicago to visit the Booths! They lived across the hall from us last year. T and their little girl played everyday and we've been missing them so much this year!! It was so fun to see them. We also got to meet their new little girl and we introduced our new little girl to them! It was great. Tiff is a really great host, we did a lot of really fun things and ate a lot of really good food in the 3 days we were there. Here are a bunch of pictures.

All the kiddos, hanging out, watching some cartoons :)

These two lovebirds just picked up right where they left off. They're so cute together. I love it.

The first day we were there, the weather was so nice! We played outside and went on a walk around their cute neighborhood. The kids loved being outside...so did we.

Cute tiny Ellie...she's 6 weeks older then Maizie and about 4 lbs lighter. ha ha ha.

I sure love my little girl!!

Ice cream!!

Cereal!! :)

Taylor checking T out through her binoculars at the Nature Center. ha.

He wouldn't touch the sand (he's too clean) but he'd look at the pretend snakes through his binoculars.

He did touch a live snake...(totally blew me away! WAY unlike my kid)

Fun train ride at the mall!

Tummy time...

Brooke, thanks for the bunny stuffed animals !!

Digging through all the toys together, just like old times.

Bath time!!

Thanks Tiff, Robert, Taylor & Ellie!! We had a blast. (and we'll see you a lot more often now that we'll only live 4 hours away!)

Unfortunately, we didn't really do anything special for St. Patricks Day today. I think when the kids are older we'll have a hunt for gold candy coins & maybe a gift from the leprechaun, but today we dressed in green and called it good. T was excited about looking around (on campus at Sam's school) today and surprisingly a lot of college kids don't wear green on St. Patricks Day? ha ha ha. People still wear green right? Or maybe Ivy league college aged kids are too cool for it? Maizie decided she was too cool too because she drooled all down her only green shirt pretty early in the day and ended up in pink and white. Oh well.

Remember this picture??? (taken Oct 2010)

Now look at these two!!

(Crazy what a difference just 4 months makes in an infants life!!)

We are going to miss this family so much when we move after graduation this spring. They have a boy T's age and a girl Maizie's age. Sam and Tahri and very good friends and Kehau and I are great friends. It's not everyday that you find a family exactly like yours!

Look what we got mom! I saw it in the store and it brought back so many memories, I had to get it! (we used to poor our milk into our cereal with this same cow growing up, we loved it..ha ha ha)

T singing...it was way too cute not to record.

3.15.2011

Hello sun! We've missed you!

Also, poor little sis is loosing her hair...

But she doesn't seem to care much :)

I feel pretty lucky that I'm even able to post tonight...from the comfort of our home, from our computer. Today, I turned on the oven to stick some cookies in, and went in the other room to feed sis. After about 5+ minutes, I started to smell burning, like melting plastic burning. I ran to the kitchen and opened the oven to see a fire a blaze in there. I freaked. TOYS! T had put a small toy truck, a stuffed Elmo, his toy protective glasses that go with his tool set and a pad of paper in the oven and I didn't know it. AHHH. Panicking, I called Sam, while the fire alarm is going off and both kids are crying hysterically. I grabbed the pad of paper...what was on fire, smothered it with my oven mit and and sprayed water in there. ha. It was quite a scene. I think Sam thought somebody had died when I called him. Apparently we need a fire extinguisher in our kitchen. Looking back it really wasn't that big of a deal, but it seriously scared me! I was about ready to put jackets on the kids and go outside to watch our house (and the 5 other apartments attached to ours) burn down. ha ha ha. Well, that might be a bit dramatic. Anyway, here's the toy truck I salvaged from the big fire.

We are all okay :) Well, not the toys, and surely not the pad of paper.

She looked really cute today...

Our good friends invited us over for dinner to celebrate a birthday. It was so fun! They have a 1 month old, she's so cute and so tiny!

Maizie looks like a giant next to her! (I love Maizie's face in this picture. ha ha ha. She's like " what the heck is that thing?!" ha ha ha. I laugh every time I see it.)

The boys (minus T, he fell asleep)

The girls

(We've made so many good friends here. It's going to be really tough to say goodbye to everyone when we have to move in June...)

Tonight, I was in the kitchen making dinner and when I came out to tell everyone it was ready, I saw this...

I already can't wait to show him when he's older. ha ha.

I love this laugh. (I've been trying to get this on video for a while now, but every time I hold up my phone to get it, she stops and stares at my phone, so there's no picture, but at least you can hear how sweet her laughing is)

PS Happy Birthday Uncle Zane!! We love you!

3.9.2011

Today we played at the gymnastics place with T's friend Madeline. It was so great, there were only a few kids there, compared to Friday mornings there are like million. I loved that I could chat with Madeline's mom (my good friend) Lauren, and not have to worry about following T around.

When we 1st got there, Lauren was filling out some paper work, so I had the kids and someone there asked me if T and Madeline were twins. HA! (Like I'd have 2 barely 2 year olds and a new baby.) But really, they do look like twins, and they were actually born just a week apart.

Thanks for the fun day guys!! T talked about Madeline all day after gymnastics. ha ha.
